What makes a buzz?

Bedford Buzz

Just like a bee flies around looking for a new place to find pollen, you’ve probably flown around the web looking for some Bedford related inspiration.

Well, you’ve landed at the right place. But what does buzz?

Here’s the definition of buzz:

noun
1.
a low, continuous humming or murmuring sound, made by or similar to that made by an insect.
“the buzz of the bees”

2.
an atmosphere of excitement and activity.
“there is a real buzz about the place”

now you see why we’ve called it Bedford Buzz right?

Here’s some famous buzz related ‘stuff’:

  • As Lunar Module Pilot on the Apollo 11 mission, Buzz Aldrin and mission commander Neil Armstrong were the first two humans to land on the Moon.
  • Buzz was originally named Tempest, after the animators’ obsession with the Atari game Tempest, and he was only six inches high.
  • Bombinate is the official way of describing the noise a bee makes, we’re not sure Bedford Bombinate has the same ring to it though?
  • A typical honey bee colony has 50,000 bees, Bedford has an estimated population of 88,000
